Chapter 57

Chapter 57: Jen finally tumbled out of the door to the sewage treatment plant and looked around. She hadn't really gotten a chance to look around the dome yet, even though she'd been there for years. She headed downtown, searching for anyone that might spark a memory in her.

Meanwhile, about 40 years in the future, the sky was darkening to an unnatural blackness. The whirlpool swirled overhead, and Derek was rushing down the street, hoping he could get to Austin before-But there was a sudden horrible cracking noise. Derek looked up at the dome that had sheilded them for almost 50 years and saw the crack run down the edges. Outside, the zombies pounded on the glass. They hadn't been seen for a while, and were thought extinct, but apparently they were just waiting for the right moment. Paniced people ran through the streets, and huge chunks of the dome were raining down on the city like meteorites. Suddenly, Derek saw Austin run past him. Derek grabbed his shoulder. "Oh thanks god! It's you! Listen, Beth and Joseph went to the market a few minutes ago! We have to find them and-" "No Austin, there are much more important things to be done. I never should have taken you from the past. You need to go back." "Back? But I have a family here!" "You won't for long." And Derek was right. He and Austin took cover in an alley while the remains of the dome shattered and collapsed onto the city and the zombies, finally freed, rushed in for a long awaited meal.

Amy didn't realize she had fallen asleep untill Calvin shook her awake. "Amy, I know your still trying to deal with what happened, but I think Nick's in trouble and-" "You think I care what happens to that son of a bitch? He's the reason my family's gone!" Amy shouted, tears running down her face. "Listen Amy, I'm sorry, I really am. But Nick didn't want this to happen to you! He's confused now! I think he had amnesia or something. If he goes out there, he could get hurt!" Amy considered for a moment, then turned Calvin away. "Get out of my room! I hope that asshole drops dead!" She slammed the door, leaving Calvin standing there. "I guess that only leaves me...hang on Nick, I'm coming!"

Chapter 56

Chapter 56: The man who had taken care of Derek for years woke up to quite a shock. The sky was a purpleish color, and blue lighting struck around the city. There also seemed to be a whirlpool in the sky above, and the wind was picking up. "No...it can't be...I have to get Derek back now! I can't let this happen again!" He opened a desk drawer and stuffed a letter he had received years ago into the boy's pocket and rushed him out. "Where are we going daddy?" Derek asked the man. "We're going on a little trip." He set the time machine and set it for the year 1995, 13 years before the infection had broken out. He kissed the boys forehead and injected a serum into the boys arm. He passed out, and soon, his memory was reset to what he the man wanted it to be. He set the timer and stepped back. The ball of electricity surrounded him and Derek vanished. "I hope you do a better job of saving them then I did." The man, the original Derek, pulled his hood off and a single tear slid down his cheek. His hand started to flicker. "It's almost time. I hope I didn't send my past self back too early." Then, something came to him. "Austin! I knew it was a mistake bringing him back here!" He bolted down the street. "I hope I'm not too late!"

"What do you think Nick?" Jake asked as they reached the familiar med lab. Nick suddenly knew why he had lured him down here. "Wait, you're the one that did this to me! No! Get away-" But Jake grabbed him and threw him against the wall. "I just need to finish tinkering with your mind Nick. This'll be over in a second..."

Jen gasped and sputtered as she pulled herself onto the solid concrete pathway. The sewer water had finally done it. It had permanantly snapped her out of her murderous rampage and destroyed Jake's control over her. But her freedom had cost someone his life. She didn't know the man, but she felt bad. A good sign that her emotions were coming back to her. She had to get out of here and find her friends. Derek...he was all she had left...she didn't know how long it had been, but she headed down a nearby tunnel, hoping it would lead her home.

Chapter 55

Chapter 55: It took a few months, but Austin finally readjusted to life in the future. He soon met a girl named Beth, and they quickly hit it off. Soon, they were engaged, and after 2 years of being married, they had a child named Joeseph. The effect of time travel causes the traveler to slowly lose memory of having been to a different time period. That's exactly what happened to Austin. He didn't remember Nick or Amy or Derek or anything from the years he had been in the past. All he knew now was his family.

It had been almost four years since Austin and Derek had come to the future, and Derek was now a 7 year old boy. He was very playful, and after a little brain tapping, he had completely forgotten about his previous life. This was nessecary for the plan to carry out. He couldn't have Derek holding back at all. The man who had taken care of Derek like his own was almost ready for the final part of his plan to commence. He sighed and looked at the face of the boy. He knew what was going to happen too him, and the thought of it almost made him cry. Almost.

"Are you okay Nick?" Calvin asked. "Wait...you know me too?" "Seriously, what is wrong with you?" Calvin got up and put a hand on Nick's forhead, which he quickly brushed away. "What the hell is wrong with you? Don't touch me!" "Nick I'm trying to-" "Hey, just back off okay?" Nick opened the front door and walked out, slamming it shut behind him.

Nick wandered the streets for some time before he was approached by a large man that smelled strongly of sewage. "Um, can I help you?" Nick asked. "Nick, I know what your going through. Come with me and I can make it all better." "Thanks but no thanks. I think I can figure this out on my own." The man stepped in front of him. "Please, I insist." The guy looked serious, so Nick followed him to the manhole cover in the street. "Um...can I at least know your name?" "My name?" the man replied. "Sure. It's Jake, but you can just call me, the Master." The Master? This guy had some serious issues. Whatever the case, Nick felt he had to follow him to find out who he really was.

Chapter 54

Chapter 54: Calvin limped down the narrow walk alongside the sewer tunnel. He couldn't believe what had happened. Casey was dead. How would he tell Amy? He finally reached the end of the tunnel, in the room where he and Casey were attacked by Jake only a few minutes earlier. Now it seemed like ages. He slowly ascended the ladder up to the surface, pushing aside the manhole cover and rising into the sunlight.

Amy and Nick searched the dome for hours, with no sign of Calvin, Casey, or Derek. Amy was in tears, and soon, they stopped the search for the night. They had enlisted the help of the same police force that had found Austin, and they assured her that they would search all night and call her at any sign of her family. They finally arrived home to see Calvin asleep on the couch. He woke up when the door slammed shut and he was immedeately embraced by Amy, but she quickly pulled back. "Calvin, you stink! It smells like you've been wallowing around in the sewers!" "I have." he replied. He quickly recounted the story of what had happened down there. "So it was Jake all along..." Amy said after he had finished. "Wait, do you know where my husband or my son is?" Calvin hung his head. "Amy...I'm sorry...we ran into that murderer down there and she...killed Casey." Amy couldn't believe it. Her husband was dead. She broke down and ran into her bedroom, slamming the door behind her. Once she was gone, Calvin turned to Nick. "Say, where's your brother?" "Brother?" Nick replied. "I have a brother?"

Chapter 53

Chapter 53: Austin felt the familiar feeling of being stretched to the point of breaking, the bright lights were flashing in his eyes again. It had been so long since he had experienced this...then it was over, and he was home. He looked around at the gleaming buildings and bustling skyways. A hovercar flew overhead. "Ah...looks like 2054 hasn't changed much since I've been gone." "Of course it hasn't." The masked man replied, Derek still asleep in his arms. "I've taken you back to the exact point you left from. Look at yourself." Austin walked over to a skyscraper and examined himself in the glass. He was 7 years younger than he had been in 2015, the exact age he had been when he arrived in 2008. "Wow!" "Now if you'll excuse me," the man started. "I have some buissness to take care of with this baby." Austin wasn't paying any attention, he was too busy looking at himself in the glass. The man sighed and vanished down an alley.

"Wait!" Nick called as he caught a glipse of the woman who had talked to him before. "What do you want?" she replied. "Look, I'm sorry I was so mean to you before. I'm just a little...confused right now. I woke up in this lab, I have stitches on the back of my head, and I have no idea where or who I am. I guess I just took it out on you." Amy looked dumbfounded. "You expect me to believe that you have amnesia?" "Um...yeah." Amy looked insulted now, and she turned and started to walk away. "No wait!" Nick called. "Look!" He pulled back his hair and showed her the stitches. Amy gasped. "S-so you really don't remember who I am?" "Not a clue." "Then this is all the more reason we have to find Casey and Calvin! Come on!" She grabbed his hand and they bolted down the street.

Chapter 52

Chapter 52: Nick slowly awoke. He rose from the metal table he was lying on and got to the ground. There was an odd numbing feeling coming from the back of his head, and he felt it. About a dozen stitches ran up and down the back of his skull. He had to get out of here. He didn't know why, but for some reason, this place gave him the creeps. He headed up the stairs and and stumbled around for a while before finding the ladder that would lead up to the surface. He pushed the manhole cover aside and climbed into the sunlight (what little sunlight the dome would let in of course). Nick wandered around for a while before he finally found a bench to sit on, which he did. All of this seemed new to Nick...and just as he was getting comfortable, a hysterical woman ran up to him. "Nick! Nick, thank god! Come on! Derek's been kidnapped! You have to help me!" Amy tugged on Nick's arm, but he didn't budge. "Do I know you?" he asked. "Nick don't-wait, is this about what we did before?! That doesn't matter right now Nick! Derek's in trouble!" Nick shrugged her off and started down the sidewalk. "Nick!" "Look," he shouted back to her. "I don't know you, I don't want to know you, and I have no idea who this Nick guy is, so leave me alone!" Amy almost broke down right there. "Fine!" she shouted. "I guess I'll have to find my son and my husband on my own!" Once Amy had left, Nick calmed down a bit. "The nerve of some people!" he said to himself. "I don't know who she is! But she seemed to know a lot about me..." Nick stopped walking and turned back to where he had last seen Amy. "Maybe I should help her though...she shouldn't be wandering around the city on her own." He ran down the sidewalk, thinking where she might have gone.

Chapter 51

Chapter 51: "Ugh..." Calvin moaned. He slowly got up and looked around the dark tunnel he had collapsed in. "Whoa, where am I?" He seemed to be hearing ringing noises coming from somewhere. He looked at his feet and saw Casey's phone. The caller ID read: Amy. "Amy?" He asked as he answered. "Calvin? What are you doing with Casey's phone?" "Um...I don't know. I think he dropped it." "Dropped it?! Well where is he?" "Um...I don't know..."

Little did he know, Jen and Casey had plummeted over the waterfall. Casey hung on with one hand while Jen clutched Casey's leg. The water had once again snapped her out of her trance and she was screaming her lungs out. "Woah! The murderer's a chick?!" "Murderer?! What are you talking about?!" Jen replied. As the water hurtled over the falls, some of it hit Jen, knocking her hood off and causing her to slide further down Casey's leg. Unfortunately, Casey didn't recognize her, as they had never met. He shook his leg attempting to kick her off. "No! Please!" Tears were running down her face, and Casey just couldn't bring himself to do it. He grabbed her hand and helped her up onto the ledge. Then she helped him up after him. She leaned into his ear and whispered, "Never trust a murderer." She plunged her knives into Casey's stomach and pushed him over the edge just as Calvin arrived behind her. She turned to face him. "Now its your turn!"

Chapter 50

Chapter 50: Nick pressed his ear up against the door, desperate to hear what was going on on the other side. Jen sat on the bed. "Nick, what's happening out there?" "I don't know. I think someone's fighting." Suddenly, something hit the door so hard that Nick flew back and smashed his head on the foot of the bed. "Nick!" Jen shouted. She knelt at his side, trying desperately to wake him up.
Meanwhile, Calvin also layed unconcious on the other side of the door where Jake had thrown him. At the same time, Casey was being held in the air by his throat. "I told myself I'd never do this, but..." That was all Casey thought as he kicked Jake in the crotch. He immedeately released him and collapsed to the ground. Casey ran over to Calvin and helped him up. "Come on buddy, I'm getting you out of here."
"Please! Somebody help me!" Jen shouted. She pounded on the door and finally suceeded in opening it. What she saw on the other side was the master lying in a fetal position clutching his groin and two men running down the sewer tunnel. From the floor, Jake managed to mumble. "A-after them!" Suddenly, Jen's mind was overridden and her knives extended from her fingers. She burst down the tunnel, leaving Nick, unconcious and bleeding to death, lying in the bedroom.
Austin finally reached the park on the outskirts of the city, Derek still asleep in his arms. "Where is he?" Austin mumbled to himself. Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of blue light, and a cloaked man appeared in the bushes. He brushed himself off and approached Austin and the baby. "I didn't think you were actually going to go through with this." "Neither did I." Austin replied. He handed Derek over to the stranger. "Please...take care of him..." "I will. You know that I have no choice in the matter." The man stepped back. "Would you like to come back with me?" Austin hesitated. Should he go back to his home? He had a realitivley good life here. And then he remembered: he should be missing a tongue, and, he'd automatically be blamed for Derek's disappearence. "Yes. I will come back with you." The man smiled. "Good. Now step over here." Austin complied, then, they were gone.
Amy stretched her arms above her head and looked to her alarm clock. 4 AM. Casey and Calvin still weren't home yet. Well, as long as she was up, she might as well get Derek his bottle. She got off the bed and went to the refrigorator. "At least he didn't wake me up. First time I've gotten a somewhat decent sleep in weeks." She opened the door to his room and saw his bed empty and his window opened. The bottle slipped out of her hand and shattered on the floor.
Jake layed on the floor for a while before finally gathering enough strength to get up. The first thing he saw however, was Nick, lying in a pool of his own blood. Jake gasped and lifted him off the ground, careful to support his head. He carried him down further into the med lab. "You can't die on me yet. I'm not finished with you." He gently layed him down on the table and got to work.
Casey was having a hard time running down the tunnel and supporting Calvin at the same time. "Come on buddy! Wake up!" He heard someone behind him and turned to see the knived murderer running down the tunnel. He tried to run, but she was too quick. She tackled him and they rolled into the sewage water below, Calvin slowly sliding down the wall above them. They soon came up for air, just in time to see a waterfall that lead down to the sewage treatment plant.

Chapter 49

Chapter 49"Wait, do you hear something?" Jen asked Nick. Nick sighed. "No, I don't hear anything, now lets just-"No...there's someone out there..." "Oh for the love of god!" Nick pushed Jen off him, pulled his pants back on, and went up to the door.
On the other side, Jake had just smashed into the wall with his fist. The stones cracked from the force of the punch. Calvin and Casey doged to opposite sides of him and tried to get to him, but he swatted Calvin aside like a rag doll, causing him to smash painfully against the wall. He hit so hard in fact that he completely blacked out. Casey meanwhile, was still trying to avoid the punches. "Calvin!" he called out. That minor hesitation was all Jake needed. He grabbed Casey by the throat and held him above his head. Casey felt as if his eyes would burst....

Chapter 48

Chapter 48: "I know who kidnapped Austin." Casey said. "What? Who?!" Calvin exclaimed. "Isn't it obvious?" Amy and Calvin still looked dumbfounded. Casey sight. "Okay, Calvin, come with me. Amy, you stay with Austin until he wakes up." As they turned to leave, Casey turned back. "And don't have sex with him." Amy's face turned crimson and she went back to her bedroom.
Jen...the name was familiar, but in his clouded state, Nick didn't recognize it whatsoever. Suddenly, Jen got an odd look on her face, like she was snapping out of a trance. She shook her head and leaned against a wall. "W-what? Where am I?" While she was distracted, the 'master' injected a serum into her wrist. She quickly turned back into the knived woman. "What is it you require of me master?" He smiled. "You and Nick have the same blood type. It's very unique. I need a child with that blood type, which is why I need you two to mate." Jen looked shocked, but Nick still had the same blank look on his face. "What? Mate?! With all due respect master, you can't be serious!" "Oh but I am. You're going to have sex, and you're going to like it." The 'master' pressed a button and a bed extended out of the wall. He left the room and shut the door behind him. "You kids have fun."
"This way!" Casey called. They walked to the middle of the street and lifted up the manhole cover. "The sewers?" "I have a hunch. Trust me."
They reached the end of the tunnel to see a large steel door to their left. From inside they could hear creaking and moaning. "It sounds like someone's gettin it on in there!" Calvin said. "Can I help you two?" A voice from behind them asked. Suddenly, they were yanked off thier feet and thrown against the hard stone wall. The man in front of them cracked his knuckles. "It's been awhile hasen't it?" Casey asked. "What the hell are you talking about?" Calvin exclaimed. "What, you don't recognize him? True, he has built up a lot of muscle, but he's still the Jake we know and love!" The master's face fell. "How did you know?" "Lucky guess I suppose!" Casey replied. "Well enjoy it, cause your luck is about to run out!"
Amy was sleeping soundly when Austin crept into her son's bedroom. Derek lay in his bed, sucking his thumb. "I'm sorry little bud, but I didn't pretend to have my tongue cut out for nothing!" he whispered. He lifted Derek over his shoulder and climbed out the bedroom window, his curtains still fluttering in the light breeze.
END OF PART IV

Chapter 47

Chapter 47: When Nick awoke, he was in a dark dark room that smelled strongly of urine. He got up and put a hand to his throbbing head, then felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. It felt like he had been stabbed...But before he could finish his thought, the door in front of him opened. It was the woman from before. As soon as he saw her, his mind went blank of all other thoughts except to obey the woman in front of him. "Hello Nick." she said. "I'm going to need you to go see the master, can you do that for me?" "Yes your greatness." Nick replied. "Thank you." she said giving him a peck on the cheek. Nick left the cell and then his brain went on autopilot. He had to find the master...
Nick's knock seemed to echo throughout the whole sewer. A deep, gravely voice answered from within. "Enter." So Nick did. "Shut the door behind you." So he did. "Are you willing to serve me, your master, for all of eternity?" "I am your humble servant master." "Good." The master rose from his chair and stepped out of the shadows. "Very good." There was another knock, and after the master said his usual come in, the knife woman entered. But there was something different about her....she didn't have her hood up..."You summoned me master?" "Yes. I believe you've already met our guest." "Yes master, I injected him with the mind control serum." "No. You've met him before. Seven years ago. Isn't that right, Jennifer?

Chapter 46

Chapter 46: Nick couldn't believe it. He had slept with his best friends wife! What the hell had come over him? He sighed and continued to walk. He heard a soft, melodical voice drift from an alley. "Hey big boy. What's the matter?" A hooded woman stepped out from the shadows. "It's nothing." "Oh I'm sure that's not it. Do you want me to help? I can make all your problems go away." Suddenly, Nick realized something. "So you're a...prostitute? They have prostitutes in New Washington?" "NO I'M NOT A FUCKING-I mean, sorry honey, no." The woman walked over to Nick and started to stroke his cheek. "What I give is free." She planted a kiss right on Nick's lips, and oddly, Nick enjoyed it. That feeling only lasted a minuted as waves of pain shot through his body. The woman had extended a knife from her finger and plunged it into Nick's abdomen. His brain went numb, and he lost all thought. "That's right Nick, go to sleep. Go to sleep and dream about the master..."
"Don't tell me to calm down!" Casey shouted. "I just caught my best friend sleeping with my wife! I'm not calming down!" "Casey, you didn't even let him explain himself." Calvin protested. "He doesn't need to! I was there and I saw what they were doing!" "Casey..." Amy approached her husband. "Amy, I'm really not in the mood for-" "It was my fault." she said. Both Casey and Calvin looked at her in shock. "What?" "I forced myself onto him. He was trying to get away..." "He was trying to..." Casey suddenly realized something. "I know who did it." "Did what?" Calvin asked. "I know who kidnapped Austin."

Chapter 45

Chapter 45: Nick collapsed next to Amy on the bed. "Oh my god Nick..." she breathed. "That was amazing..." "Thanks." he replied. "No, thank you." She got on top of him and kissed him again, but Nick pushed her away and got out of the bed. "What is it?" "What do you mean what is it? You're my best friends wife and I just had sex with you!" "Oh, Casey will never find out. Besides, you gave me what he never could." "No. No, no, no, no, no. This is wrong. Completely wrong." Nick pulled on his pants and his shirt before walking out of the room. Or at least, trying, as Amy grabbed his arm and threw him onto the bed. "Amy, I don't want to have to hurt you!" She uzipped his pants and leaned in to kiss him. Suddenly, they heard a cough from behind them. There in the doorway, stood Casey. Amy practically lept of Nick and fell backwards onto the floor. "Well, well well." Casey said. "You think you know a guy." "Wait. Casey I can-" But before Nick could defend himself, Casey punched him in the face. Nick fell to the ground and put his hand to his mouth. He spit a tooth out, then felt Casey kick him in the face. "You feel that?" Suddenly, Calvin grabbed Casey behind the arms. "Nick, get out of here!" "LET ME GO! I'M GONNA KILL THAT SON OF A BITCH!" As Nick ran, he realized that his life, would never be the same...

Chapter 44

Chapter 44: Casey was just finishing cleaning by taking the sword out of the fireplace when there was a knock at the door. He opened it to see Calvin and Nick supporting Austin. "Calvin?! Your back! And you found Austin!" "Yeah, but he a little tired at the moment." Calvin replied. "I don't blame him." "We need a favor." Nick said. "What's that?" "Well, we're trying to find the guy who did this." He opened Austin's mouth to reveal what was no longer there. "I'd love to help, but I have a family to take care of guys." "I have an idea. Nick, why don't you stay here?" Calvin said much to the other's shock. "What? Why?" "Because you're tired. You'd be no help to us in this condition. You almost fell asleep on the way here!" "But I-" "I think he's right." Casey said. "Fine." Nick said angrily. "Have fun finding the guy who hurt MY brother." They left without another word.
He didn't want to agree with them, but Calvin and Casey were right. He was tired. He walked around the house looking for a place to crash. The couch was out because it was extremely uncomfortable, like someone had been fighting on it. "There was only one other bed in the house, and that one was occupied my Amy. Nick walked into the master bedroom and saw her sleeping peacefully. He sighed and walked up to the bed. He knew he shouldn't, but he was just so tired...he had to sleep somewhere. So he quietly slipped under the covers next to Amy who continued to sleep. A few minutes later she rolled over and draped her arm around his shoulder. "Oh Casey..." she moaned in her sleep. Nick eased her arm off him than tried to go back to sleep. A moment later, he was awakened again by a hand grabbing his ass. He practically lept out of bed. He was going to leave the room when he realized something. He was actually gettin aroused at the thought of having sex with his best friends wife. No! He had to stop thinking these thoughts! It wasn't healthy! If Casey caught them...But in his mind, the pros definately outweighed the cons. He crept back to the bed as silently as he could and turned so he was face to face with Amy's sleeping body. He reached under the blanket and brought her hand up to his crotch. She obliged and squeezed him through the material of his jeans. A wave of pleasure burst throught him. This night might not turn out so bad after all...

Chapter 43

Chapter 43: The bullets flew by Nick's head as he took cover behind his bed with his unconcious brother at his side. "Casey! Who the hell are these guys?!" "They're the guys that kidnapped your brother." Casey called back while still firing at them. Nick reached under his bed and pulled out a metal case. Inside was his shotgun. He pulled it out and brushed off the dust collecting on the barrel. "Been a while." Something was stuck on the butt of the gun. He peeled it off and saw that it was an old photo from his military days. He was standing with his arm around his former best friend Zack. His Golden Retriever Terry sat at his side. Now, both of them were dead. Terry had been zombified and Zack had betrayed him and been killed by his own father. He tore the picture in two and threw it behind him as he loaded the shotgun and prepared to fight.
The creature that had attacked Amy lept from rooftop to rooftop, than stopped, lept from the skyline and landed in the street. It walked over to a manhole cover, lited it, and dissapeared into the sewers.
They were completely outnumbered. There were probably 10 guys and since Austin was unconcious, there were only two of them. Still, they managed to bet back over half of them. One of Casey's bullets hit one of them in the leg and he fell to the ground. "Wait! Stop shooting!" His men complied, and Nick got out from behind the bed. "Careful Nick..." Casey warned. "I'm not worried as long as you got my back." Casey smiled, but quickly pointed his gun at the remaining 3 men. The one on the floor, probably their leader, was wincing in pain as Nick crouched down by him. "Now, why did you kidnap my brother?" He didn't answer, but a wave of pain shot through his body as Nick dug his knife into the bullet wound on his ankle. "Okay okay!" He sucked air through his teeth and clutched his ankle like a child clutched a doll. "We're only mercinaries! We were doing what we were payed to do!" "Who payed you?" "I can't tell you! He'd kill me!" Casey spoke up from the corner. "And what makes you think we won't?" The man seemed to be thinking. "Fine. His name is J-" One of his own men blew a hole in his head. His blood splattered everywhere. Casey shot the guy while the other two ran for it. Nick got up and wiped the blood off on a paper towel. "Damn...that guy was our big lead..." "I can't beleive that he did that...he must be really loyal to the big boss." "Yeah..." Casey put his hand on Nick's shoulder. "We'll find him Nick. And we'll show him that karma can be a real bitch."

Chapter 42

Chapter 42: Amy went flying back from her attacker's blow, slamming into the wall. Jolts of pain shot through her body. Her sword flew to her left and the assailent picked it up and easily bent the hilt into a knot, than casually tossed it behind its shoulder landing it in the fireplace. "No...please..." Tears were welling up in Amy's eyes. Suddenly, the attacker screeched like a dieing animal and turned around. Casey stood in the door way, his gun still smoking. "Step away from my wife. Now." The attacker hissed and ran with inhuman speed past Casey. "Casey..." Amy ran into her husband's arms than opened the closet door. Derek still lay there, sound asleep. She picked him up. "We'll talk in the morning honey." Casey said to her. "I'll clean up around here. You and D get to bed." "All right...Oh! Did you find any sign of Austin?" "No...we searched for hours but there was no sign of him. We're going to start searching again in the morning." Casey picked the door up from the floor and put it up against the frame again. Amy sighed. "Good night Casey."
"I can't believe it! Calvin! I didn't know you were even still alive!" Nick exclaimed. "And you found my brother! You don't know how much this means to me. Austin, are you all right?" "Um, yeah...about that..." Calvin started. "What? What did they do to him?" "They kind of cut out his toungue..." "WHAT?!" Nick forced open his brother's mouth and nearly gagged at what he saw. "Oh my god!" There was a crash from downstairs. "Shit...looks like they followed me here..." "Who?" Nick's question was answered as a rain of bullets peirced through the walls. "Holy shit!" Nick, still supporting Austin, dove behind his bed while Calvin took cover behind the kitchen counter. He drew two pistols from his pockets. "You might want to take cover Nick, this is going to get a little messy."

Chapter 41

Chapter 41: Amy was waiting up with her son Derek for Casey. Well, she was waiting up. Derek was sound asleep. Suddenly, she heard footsteps coming up the stairs.
