Chapter 50

Chapter 50: Nick pressed his ear up against the door, desperate to hear what was going on on the other side. Jen sat on the bed. "Nick, what's happening out there?" "I don't know. I think someone's fighting." Suddenly, something hit the door so hard that Nick flew back and smashed his head on the foot of the bed. "Nick!" Jen shouted. She knelt at his side, trying desperately to wake him up.
Meanwhile, Calvin also layed unconcious on the other side of the door where Jake had thrown him. At the same time, Casey was being held in the air by his throat. "I told myself I'd never do this, but..." That was all Casey thought as he kicked Jake in the crotch. He immedeately released him and collapsed to the ground. Casey ran over to Calvin and helped him up. "Come on buddy, I'm getting you out of here."
"Please! Somebody help me!" Jen shouted. She pounded on the door and finally suceeded in opening it. What she saw on the other side was the master lying in a fetal position clutching his groin and two men running down the sewer tunnel. From the floor, Jake managed to mumble. "A-after them!" Suddenly, Jen's mind was overridden and her knives extended from her fingers. She burst down the tunnel, leaving Nick, unconcious and bleeding to death, lying in the bedroom.
Austin finally reached the park on the outskirts of the city, Derek still asleep in his arms. "Where is he?" Austin mumbled to himself. Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of blue light, and a cloaked man appeared in the bushes. He brushed himself off and approached Austin and the baby. "I didn't think you were actually going to go through with this." "Neither did I." Austin replied. He handed Derek over to the stranger. "Please...take care of him..." "I will. You know that I have no choice in the matter." The man stepped back. "Would you like to come back with me?" Austin hesitated. Should he go back to his home? He had a realitivley good life here. And then he remembered: he should be missing a tongue, and, he'd automatically be blamed for Derek's disappearence. "Yes. I will come back with you." The man smiled. "Good. Now step over here." Austin complied, then, they were gone.
Amy stretched her arms above her head and looked to her alarm clock. 4 AM. Casey and Calvin still weren't home yet. Well, as long as she was up, she might as well get Derek his bottle. She got off the bed and went to the refrigorator. "At least he didn't wake me up. First time I've gotten a somewhat decent sleep in weeks." She opened the door to his room and saw his bed empty and his window opened. The bottle slipped out of her hand and shattered on the floor.
Jake layed on the floor for a while before finally gathering enough strength to get up. The first thing he saw however, was Nick, lying in a pool of his own blood. Jake gasped and lifted him off the ground, careful to support his head. He carried him down further into the med lab. "You can't die on me yet. I'm not finished with you." He gently layed him down on the table and got to work.
Casey was having a hard time running down the tunnel and supporting Calvin at the same time. "Come on buddy! Wake up!" He heard someone behind him and turned to see the knived murderer running down the tunnel. He tried to run, but she was too quick. She tackled him and they rolled into the sewage water below, Calvin slowly sliding down the wall above them. They soon came up for air, just in time to see a waterfall that lead down to the sewage treatment plant.
